Jason - I agree that Big Ben will be more than a serviceable play at QB this year. In the past, he's been a great player who plays in a bad system for big fantasy numbers. Pittsburgh was dead last in pass percentage last year. I do think they will shift to a slightly less run-heavy offense this year, however. You pointed out the main points, but also the coaching staff will be more comfortable letting Ben throw more b/c he's now been in the league three years. While FWP won't be terrible in short yardage situations, a lot of those Bettis TDs will go to Heath Miller this year. If you get Big Ben as your QB2, you're doing well.

I have had 3 drafts already this year, and 1 of the leagues is RB heavy, and he hasn't lasted past Round 3 in the 2 leagues he was available in (I had him as a 7th Rd keeper in my one league). He won't be around.

John Hansen of Fantasyguru.com has Big Ben becoming more of a fantasy option this year for 2 reasons:

1) His performance in the playoffs, esp the AFC title game against my Broncos

2) there will be a slight dropoff in the running game.

Great blog guys. I say McNabb is huge this year. Although he lost TO and all, he looks determined this preseason and now w/ Stallworth on board, he has at least a semblance of a receiving corps. Plus, I say he starts running again, b/c lord knows the Running backs won't.

I think that Manning is going to come close to his '04 numbers and outscore Palmer and Brady by 40-50 points. He is worthy of a high second round pick, especially in leagues with no flex.

Right, and I definitely suggest waiting at least until round 5 to draft a QB.

You are probably right, but some leagues will always be overly running back heavy.

I have to disagree with your assertion that Palmer can be had in rounds 4 and 5 Jeff. No way he goes past round 3 after Monday's performance.
